Scheduled checks
Scheduled checks are just that! Simply setup the test to run through your production line at a certain time, to check whether anomalies are detected, such as metal fragments. This type of check is ultra important for food manufacturers and ensures there are no rogue objects in the batch, improving your quality control and maintaining your reputation. The items can be scrapped, quarantined or reworked through a quality order.
In-process manufacturing checks
In-process manufacturing checks will run a test when the manufacturing hits a particular step during production. A check will be made during the manufacturing rather than waiting until the end of the process, and a decision will be made whether the manufactured goods are good enough to proceed or whether they should be scrapped. This check helps you to identify issues earlier and cut your scrapped materials bill dramatically by performing a pre-scheduled check in the middle of the process rather than the end – saving you time and money.
Inbound inventory checks
Inbound inventory checks help you to ensure that your purchased product is of good enough quality to sell to your customers. Once they are delivered an on-the-spot manual inventory check is performed by your warehouse staff, if the quality standard is good it is recorded as such in Business Central, if of a poor standard a quality order will be placed for a purchase return so the items can be sent back to your supplier. This check is also trackable so you can see if there are consistent problems with the products being sent from the vendor and take action if required.
Pre-posting checks
Pre-posting checks catch the order just before they are sent out to the customer. During picking and packing the order a manual quality check is carried out by the warehouse employee and once signed off for delivery a Warehouse Shipment is prepared so the goods can carry on their journey or if not up to standard a Warehouse Receipt is created so there can be further investigation.
All of these checks keep the quality data within your Dynamics 365 Business Central System so everything related to a product is in one place. Also, the checks are completely traceable, which is often required in food and consumables manufacturing.
